A Rebel’s Proclamation : A Love Letter
It is said that the purest and holiest form of love is that between a parent and a child. However it will be unjust and wrong to limit this greatest of emotions to only blood relatives - for love manifests itself in the hearts of all those who ceaselessly care for the ones dear to them.

I cannot and will not speak for others. I speak only for myself here.
I cannot remember the last time I told my father that I love him, but I do. My mother has of course had the privilege on several occasions; she is a mother after all.
I am in no position to categorize this as a cultural side-effect, contrary to popular belief.
I’ve erred and flawed many a times; and have been deservedly flayed albeit marginally as opposed to my darling siblings. Maybe being the youngest and the only son always favoured me – although this technically isn’t my fault (!).
My parents and my family mean the world to me. I’m gifted to have them beside me at all times. I cannot thank them enough for all that I am and will be, for everything they have sacrificed and done for me. And in a clichéd understatement, I say - I owe them this lifetime.

They say ‘Blood is thicker than water’. To many extents this is true.
Nonetheless life brings to us persons who are by no means related in blood-ties and yet love us in the sincerest of ways, at times even more than those who should. To all such individuals in my life who love me and care for me, I take this opportunity to thank you and say I love you too.
~
Very often the terminology of ‘Love’ is misinterpreted and the true essence of the word is lost. Love is the dearest of all feelings and if understood in the appropriate context, it encapsulates the beauty of life.
I wish to spend this life unabashedly loving everybody and everything dear to me. I wish for these simplicities in life.
