Life as we know it

The life of a human being isn’t simple. It is perplexed, agonized and difficult.

However if one were to retrospect, it didn’t start like this. Life was simpler as infants. As we grew up we burdened our intellectual minds with countless complexities. Humans, as a species, are the most gifted when it comes to the process of thought. Unfortunately, this gift has been abused to the point of inflicting damage on the one boon nature chose for us.

When troubles befall upon us, the world isn’t conspiring against us. As individuals, we are too insignificant for such reckoning. The material universe around us follows a simplistic path of existence. It is the emotional universe that falters. Imagine the pleasures one could draw from life by adopting a path of intellectual simplicity.

Denial is the easiest sport when it comes to confronting one’s self-inflicted mental disputes. Most of us are too weak in the head (and heart) to accept that all the complicated circumstances we find ourselves in, (almost always) are brought about by our confused minds. Animals have it easier. Instinct is such a powerful tool at times like these.

Imagine a life where one adopted instinct when rational thought failed. Life around us will remain the same. The only aspect affected will be our future actions. Rational thought would have weighed the pros and cons. Instinct will tackle it head on. By refraining from our instincts we are depriving ourselves of our primal purpose of existence.

We like to delude ourselves by believing in a life guided by an astrological destiny. Fact of the matter is that we are solely responsible for all consequences to come - consequences that will surround us only if that first decision is taken.

An ideal life would probably be that beautiful blend of intelligence and instinct. But we all know ideal is too Utopian to be true. A more realistic challenge would be letting instinct guide life when our thoughts are too intrinsically complicated.

Life will get figured with time. It is like a learning process; and in this process one mustn’t expect the world to glide by. In fact the juxtaposed realities of life will enrich circumstances and probably make us better individuals.
